President Crossover Entertainment
A successful actor and voice-over artist in Mexico and the U.S., in 2012, Jaime Aymerich teamed with his former agent, George Salinas to launch Crossover Entertainment, a production company with a focus to revolutionize the art of reformatting TV programs from Mexico.
Frustrated over the lack of quality TV shows with dual appeal to English-speaking Latinos and mainstream viewers, the new partners immediately set their sights on ratings-proven, fan-favored, successful shows from Mexico. Keeping the basic premise, the partners add unique features and repackage for U.S. audiences.
Aymerich’s 27 years of experience working on some of Mexico’s most popular TV shows, gives him unique insight on Mexican programming. And, Salinas, who had spent eleven years as a Hollywood talent agent, knows the intricacies of why some American TV programs works and why some don’t. Together, they have become the masters of Mexican content reformatting, and it didn’t take long for TV networks to notice.
After four years, Crossover Entertainment has become a leading sought-after company by major networks seeking content. In 2015, Aymerich and Salinas repackaged and sold “La Hipocondriaca,” a popular Colombian telenovela, to FOX Broadcasting Company. They partnered with executive producers Julie Bowen (Modern Family) to star and Robin Shorr (The Middle) to write Hypochondriac, a single-camera comedy. Currently, they have sold two properties to FOX and one to CBS, with several others in development. Crossover Entertainment is a production company but operates more like a studio.
Jaime Aymerich continues to divide his time between running his company and acting in television, theater and films. His TV credits include: Showtime’s Weeds and Fat Actress, Comedy Central’s Workaholics, and on Telemundo’s popular telenovela Amar de Nuevo. His film credits: In a World, A Beautiful Secret In addition, Aymerich along with Salinas, is producing Yucca and the Moth, a film currently in development. Recently, Aymerich produced the high profile Hollywood event spotlighting Mexican super star Eugenio Derbez receiving his Hollywood Walk of Fame Star.
